Where is Georgia Aquarium?

Georgia Aquarium is in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, at 225 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. It sits next to Centennial Olympic Park and is within walking distance of the World of Coca-Cola, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and other attractions. A Georgia Aquarium map or directions app will help you navigate; the building is large and recognisable, with a prominent facade facing the park.

This guide is independent; we do not run the aquarium. For the latest address, accessibility, and parking details, check the official Georgia Aquarium visitor information.

Layout and main galleries

Inside, the aquarium is organised into several major galleries. Ocean Voyager is one of the largest single exhibits and houses whale sharks, manta rays, and other large species; it often includes an underwater tunnel. Cold Water Quest features beluga whales, sea otters, and African penguins. Tropical Diver focuses on reef ecosystems. River Scout explores freshwater species. There is also a 4D theater and areas for shows (e.g. dolphin and sea lion presentations). Guest services, restrooms, and dining (e.g. Café Aquaria) are available on site. For the most up-to-date floor plan, pick up a map at the entrance or check the official website.

Public transport and MARTA

Atlanta’s rail system (MARTA) serves downtown. The GWCC/CNN Center station and other nearby stops are within walking distance of the aquarium. If you are visiting the World of Coca-Cola, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, or staying in a downtown hotel, you can often walk to the aquarium in a few minutes. The area is pedestrian-friendly, but in summer it can be hot—bring water and sun protection for the walk.

Planning your route inside

To make the most of your visit, many guests start with Ocean Voyager (whale sharks and manta rays) and then work through other galleries. Show times are usually posted near the entrance and on the aquarium’s app or website; plan around them if you want to see dolphin or sea lion presentations. Allow at least three to four hours for a full visit. For opening hours and best times to visit, see our hours guide.

Accessibility

The aquarium is wheelchair accessible, with elevators and accessible routes. Wheelchairs and strollers may be available for rent; check the official site for details. Service animals are typically permitted. For specific accessibility questions, contact the aquarium directly or check their visitor information page.
